Response to Aakash's post

I read Aakash's post on his blog and I actually want to say that I agree with him. Even though the Greeks were advanced in math, philosophy, science, and other things, they still believe in gods like Athena and Poseidon. People believe in God because there are many things that science couldn't explain back then, so they believed "God" made it happen.

I also want to say that many things that couldn't be explained thousands of years ago can be explained now. But why do people still believe in God? Well, humans are creatures of habit. Once we start respecting God, we don't want to stop, so we continue to do so even if science has proven that there is no God.

A third reason why people believed in God is because many people are thankful for something that happened and they don't know who to thank; they bow down and thank god. The Jews, for example, were led by Moses out of Egypt. Later people said that God had sent a message to Moses through a burning bush. This doesn't seem very liekly, but it can happen.

These are more reasons why people believe in God.

  1. This is a nice contribution to the conversation Aakash started...not sure it's to the 350 mark, though!?
