Leaving to Come Back

"The House on Mango Street" is the way in which Sandra Cisnero came back to Mango Street. She recalled the memories of Mango Streeet and worte them down into vignettes and put together a book. This makes sense because she's going back to Manga Street, in a way, and she doesn't have to directly go back to Mango Street. SShe kept er promise and went back for thsoe who couldn't leave. The book was a book written to tell the mayor or other people to change mango street and make it a better place to live for all residents.
The main reason why I think Esperanza wrote the book to go back to Mango Street is because it says on page 110, " What happened to that Esperanza? Where did she go with all thsoe books and paper?" I think the books and paper are proof that Esperanza became a writer. The books are drafts of "The House on Mango Street" that she didn't like and decided not to publish. The paper are materals for writing HoM (Houose on Mango).
Esperanza finally obtained a "house..a space for myself to go to." She never wanted to live eon Mango Street. She wanted to live in a big hosue with big windows, a nice view, etc. Now that she has the house of her dreams, she no longer needs to even thnk about Mango Street, although she promised an old lady that she would go back to Mango Street. Since she didnt' want to go back directly, but she promised to, and she was a writer, she decided to write a book as a way of going back. Thinking about it, the whole thing makes sense. Esperanza wanted to put all her memories into HoM so she couuld leave ehr previous life behind and move forward.
Another reason why HoM was written was to go back to Mango Street. It's Esperanza's way of goign abck when she didn't want to go back. Since she was a writer, it also helped her improve her writing skills and be recognized as an excellent writer.
